Next Steps

We believe that the local church is God’s plan to reach our city and the world. Everything that you know and love about City Church is included in this Let’s Go! vision. We hope to see our church as a launching pad for ministry, so here are a few areas we are focusing on:

Serving We want to see every member take a next step of serving! From our KiDS team to the parking lot to production, during this Let’s Go! season, there are more opportunities than ever to serve on one of our ministry teams.

Discipleship From parents looking to better lead their families at home, to adults looking to grow more in love and knowledge of God, we are planning to increase the number of Equip environments provided to our church. Leadership Development Growing our residency and internship programs is also a goal of Let’s Go! We want to continue to invest in developing leaders before they are sent out into vocational ministry, or equipped to live on mission in their professional career.

Community We believe life is better in community, not alone. City Groups are small groups that meet all across our city to study God’s word and grow in community. We want to focus on City Groups, with a goal to see 20 new groups launched over the next two years.

The primary mission field for our church is Tallahassee. We want to see every person in our city reached with the good news of the gospel! Here are a few ways we want to expand our gospel reach and be for the city:

Outreach Events We are more committed than ever to outreach events like Easter at the Civic Center and Christmas On the Moon where we have the chance to leverage cultural holidays for the sake of sharing and proclaiming the gospel in Tallahassee. This is true for our next gen ministries as well with events like Launch at Langford, which is programmed with the goal to reach students on college campuses, and our annual KiDS Camp designed to reach families from all over our city.

Community Partners We will be increasing our giving to all of our community partners, including a significant increase in financial support to A Women’s Pregnancy Center and the Hang Tough Foundation. We want to give more than we ever have to these organizations who are already serving those in need in our city. Every Member on Mission We want to see every member equipped to live on mission in our city and beyond. We are excited to continue to grow and develop equipping environments like our quarterly Men’s Gatherings and Women’s Gatherings, designed to do just that!

Although Tallahassee is our primary mission field, it is not our only mission field. God has called us to take the gospel to those who have never heard it. Here are a couple of ways Let’s Go! will allow us to participate in the command to make disciples of all nations:

Salt Network We want to increase our involvement with church planting in university cities by not only continuing our partnership with The Salt Network, but also planting a Salt Network church in a college town in the next couple of years. There are over 400 major universities across North America. Through the Salt Network, we pray we will see a thriving church and college ministry established in all of these major university centers. Through Let’s Go! we will increase our financial support to the network as well as fund the Salt Company college ministry here at City Church.

Missions Partners We want to increase our giving to missions during this season! Every year we support the International Mission Board (IMB) and the North American Mission Board (NAMB) through both the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. During Let’s Go!, we plan to make our largest gifts ever to both of these offerings to support missions work here and abroad.

Sending We want to create more short, medium and long-term missions opportunities that you, our church family, can be part of. Because of this, we have recently made key hires so we can see more people equipped to be sent to the nations.

Redeemer Queen’s Park Let’s Go! will allow us to continue participating in the command to make disciples of all nations by helping to directly fund Redeemer Church in London, England. London is a global city comprised of more than 11 million people, who speak more than 300 languages. Taking the gospel to London takes it to the world.
