Jacobs Family

1.    How long have you lived in Tallahassee? How long have you been attending City Church?

Greg grew up in Tallahassee, Lauren moved here in 2011. We moved to Valdosta for 2 years (end of 2015 to beginning of 2018) and then returned back to Tallahassee in August 2018. We started attending City Church as sophomores in college in end of 2012.

2.    Tell us a little bit about your family.

We met in college, started going to City Church in 2012 and quickly started serving in City Church Kids. We were married through City Church when we were located off of Tharpe Street in December 2015. We felt God was calling us to foster in 2018 and that is when Jason entered our lives. In 2020, Jason’s biological sister Katie Beth entered our home. We finalized adoption for both children in 2021!

3.    How have you seen your kid's faith grow in City Church KiDS?

Prior to living in our home, our kids knew very little about the gospel. City Church KiDS has been essential in teaching our kids scripture in a fun, loving environment with friends their age. Jason and Katie Beth look forward to Sunday mornings and they always leave smiling ear to ear. City Church KiDS always provides good questions, a great foundation in Bible knowledge, fun, and consistency. Jason has placed his faith in Christ and made the decision to be baptized in 2022 and serves on Sundays as well. Katie Beth asks amazing questions and is learning more daily.

4.    In what ways has City Church KiDS equipped you to be the primary disciple makers in your home?

City Church Kids has equipped us through biblical guidance, staff leadership, and mentorship. The staff knows our family well and always reaches out with love and support. They helped guide us with Jason’s baptism through amazing questions that spur great conversations as well as resources to guide us through scripture with our kids.

5.    Is there a significant faith moment that’s come from your family being a part of City Church?

One significant moment is Jason coming to know Christ and deciding to publicly profess his faith through baptism on Baptism Sunday! We will always remember how special this day was for Jason and our family. Other moments include our marriage covenant including premarital counseling and ceremony, as well as foster crew launching and serving foster and adoptive families, and walking alongside of our family.
